Indian Society for Universal Dialogue
FOUNDATION DAY
Indian Society for Universal Dialogue successfully commemorated its 3rd Foundation Day on September 30, 2025. The event was a comprehensive blend of artistic performance and critical social reflection. The day began with a vibrant Costumes Check, during which members of various ISUD committees appeared dressed as corresponding characters of movie themes. This segment set an enthusiastic and colourful tone for the day, followed by engaging events where students brought their chosen movie characters to life through their performances. The Open Mic Session, which served as a platform for diverse student talent. It commenced with a graceful classical dance, followed by a storytelling segment. The session concluded with a skit accompanied by dance, with each performance drawing significant.
How can we celebrate the milestone of ISUD without an intellectual discourse? As a central part of the day’s events, a short film on honour killing was screened, specifically the movie “Paava Kadhaigal,” which portrayed the grim realities of this societal issue. Following the screening, an engaging open discussion was held, during which diversified perspectives were shared on the matter. The discussion concluded with a consensus that sustained social interaction and awareness are vital for eradicating caste-based discriminatory beliefs.
The 3rd Foundation Day drew to a close with an inspiring address by the Founding President, Adv. Aswin Suren. He not only commended the exceptional efforts of the committees but also underscored the critical importance of successfully combining artistic creativity with social awareness. This address reaffirmed the values and responsibilities that ISUD carries forward. Overall, the 3rd Foundation Day was a resounding success, functioning as a powerful event that provided both joyous artistic expression and a thought-provoking engagement.
