The Indian Society for Universal Dialogue (ISUD) came up with Freshers Debate Competition for 5 years and 3 years LLB Course students, a premier event  to showcase the intellect, eloquence and confidence in Freshers. 

 

Selection Rounds:

On 14th February, 2025, the Selection Rounds of Freshers Debate Competition were  conducted.  The freshers were presented with an incredible opportunity to begin and to carry forward a legacy that is extremely rich and varied in the School of Excellence in Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar law University.  The Participants were given thoughtful legal topic which are in discussion of contemporary society.  All participants enthusiastically showed their remarkable skills and a deep understanding of the topic.  The esteemed judge panels for the Selection Rounds provided insightful feedback on the performances, commending the participants for their dedication and depth of knowledge on the topic.  A total of 10 students were qualified to Final Round.

Final Round and Valedictory:

On 15th February, 2025, the Final Round of Freshers Debate Competition was conducted on the topic “RAREST OF THE RARE DOCTRINE: SHOULD IT BE REDEFINED OR ABOLISHED?”.  

The final round was adjudged by 

1.  Mr. Parthasarathy, Senior Advocate, Madras High Court.

2. Mr. Manuraj Shanmugasundaram, Advocate, Madras High Court.

All participants delivered impressive performances, showcasing their well-researched arguments, remarkable oratory skills and passionate discourse.  It was a testament to the power of debate in generating constructive dialogue on complex issues that impact the contemporary  world.

 

The Valedictory Ceremony for the Freshers Debate Competition 2024 - 2025 was conducted follwing the Final Round.  The session featured dignitaries such as:

1.  Col. Prof. Dr. N.S. Santhosh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, TNDALU.

2. Mr. S.R. Rajagopal, Senior Advocate, Madras High Court.

iii) Mr. Parthasarathy, Senior Advocate, Madras High Court.

iv) Mr. Manuraj Shanmugasundaram, Advocate, Madras High Court.

v) Mr. Dr. Ranjith Oomen Abraham, Faculty Coordinator, ISUD.

The ceremony was kickstarted by the welcome address by Aruna Sree B, General Secretary, ISUD who laid down a warm welcome to the dignitaries.  This was followed by the felicitation address by Mr. Dr. Ranjith Oomen Abraham, Faculty Coordinator, ISUD. Mr. Parthasarathy delivered a thought provoking special address encouraging students to improve their skills further. In a special address, Mr. S.R. Rajagopal highlighted the importance of developing reading habits, internships and participating in competition for law students.  Mr. Manuraj Shanmugasundaram in his keynote address quoted that the students should be ready to face disappointments and learn from the disappointments in the field of law. 

 

A major milestone of the ceremony was the launch of the ISUD’s official website  by Mr. S.R. Rajagopal, Mr. Parthasarathy, Mr. Manuraj Shanmugasundaram and Adv. Mr. Aswin Suren, Founding President, ISUD.  Following which the prizes were distributed to the Winners and Runners of the Freshers Debate Competition 2024 - 2025.  The Valedictory ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Swaathi R, Deputy Secretary, ISUD who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignaties on the dias and off the dias. The event left a lasting impression, fostering intellectual growth and encouraging critical thinking among the participants and attendees.
